Planar

Based in Buenos Aires, Argentina, Planar began searching for simple, honest and responsible design back in 2009. Since then, we have explored and made the most of discarded leather, recycling the offcuts. Our environmentally friendly local production aims at creating value within our community.

We have been awarded by a number of national arts and design fairs, institutions and organizations, such as Centro Metropolitano de Diseño de Buenos Aires, Sello de Buen Diseño Argentino, Salón Diario La Capital and Feria Puro Diseño & Influencias.

Our products are marketed and exhibited at MALBA in Argentina, MOMA and MCA in the United States, as well as in Brazil, Costa Rica, Portugal, Italy, Germany, Chile, France and Japan. We have taken part in national and international fairs: New York Now, Tokyo Rooms, DMY Design Festival Berlin, Extra Preview Tokyo and Puro Diseño Buenos Aires.

In 2014 we opened Planar Japan. Our products can be found at top department stores and zakka shops in Tokyo, Osaka, Kyoto and Okinawa.
